I wish I was as inspiring

I wish I was as inspiring

Today I decided to finally take a break from politics and all the hatred that’s been spreading around like a plague during the past few weeks. Granted, we’re all going through a very messy phase in Egypt with too much to grasp, let alone accept, all at once; but I decided that I owe it to myself to take a break and remind myself of the blessings that I have, and I think you do too.

During my obsessive sessions of internet madness, I came across a post on mashable about inspiring animals that did not give up despite their unfortunate health and decided that this is what I will blog about today; fighter animals and children who give me hope and who should remind us all of how we constantly forget how blessed we are.

They didn’t just give up because of a deformity they were born with or a disability developed, a failed organ or amputated limb, or a life-long disease that makes their lives more challenging; no, they fought and had equally brave people hold their hands as they went through it all. Today, I am sharing just a few of millions of inspirational stories out there.

Meet Lily, the lion-head bunny who ended up on a wheelchair because of her amputated legs due to a broken back. She is being taken care of at the North Texas Rabbit Sanctuary until someone takes her into their home.

Look at her go!

Meet the beautiful Audrey Rose, she was born blind and with a severe heart disease. At the age of 17 months, she had already undergone nine operations with the last being an 11-hour open heart surgery. A few years later, she is sharing her learned skill of braille with her family. Her smile and passion say it all.

Now, meet Faith, you’ll get the whole story as you watch the video. All I can say is that her lively spirit is truly unbelievably inspiring.

Unfortunately, I don’t know the name of this lovely boy or the loving Labrador  interacting with him but just watching how they’re connecting is all you need to feel the utmost genuineness in a bond between animal and human. The child has down syndrome, a chromosomal condition associated with intellectual disability, a characteristic facial appearance, and weak muscle tone in infancy. Individuals with down syndrome experience cognitive delays and a mild to moderate intellectual disability.

Watching them not give up and not give in to their unfortunate accidents or undesired fate must be a wake up call to all of us. It can’t be that bad, whatever it is we’re going through; it could always be worse and more painful. It’s all about how we deal with our own story, our pain, and how we decide to step in for those we love and who might be a tad less helpless than we are. Will we just give up on it all? Will we be our own rescuers? Will we be there to pull our loved ones up and help them rise through it all?

Have a blissful Ramadan…
