Her mint plant given 1/4 cup of water on a daily basis (the picture of the dead plant on the right) compared to what it currently looks like after she used a different watering technique:

“I got a small water bottle, filled it with water and punctured a small hole in the cap with a small kitchen knife. Then I just jammed it in the mud. That way the plant only takes the water it needs. I think when the mud is saturated the bottle stops dropping.” Beautiful and simple
